It would be great to have the system automatically generate a follow-up reminder when a PRN medication is marked as administered in the eMAR, prompting staff to check back in with the participant after a set amount of time (like an hour) to see how they're doing. This would make it much easier for staff to stay on top of standard PRN follow-up protocol without having to remember to set a reminder themselves. It would also help facilities keep a clear, documented record of whether the PRN achieved the desired effect, supporting both resident care and compliance documentation.
